SevenRooms alternative
SevenRooms Alternatives for Restaurants (2026)
SevenRooms quotes every package after a demo, adds a one-time setup fee, and renews contracts automatically unless you give 90 days' notice. TablesReady lists its prices, starts free, and lets you sign up and run a walk-in waitlist the same day; online bookings and a floor plan come with Business. Stay with SevenRooms if you bought it for the guest CRM, with POS spend on guest profiles and automated marketing, or for bookings from DoorDash and Deliveroo diners.

Which fits your business: TablesReady or SevenRooms?
Pick TablesReady
You want to see the price before you book a demo
For example: an independent restaurant setting its first budget for a booking system
TablesReady's Free, Starter and Business prices are on our pricing page, and you can sign up, start free and take your first walk-ins the same day. There is no setup fee. Business, from $79/mo or $69/mo billed annually, adds online bookings and a floor plan, which SevenRooms also includes in every package. SevenRooms quotes each package after a demo and adds a one-time setup fee.
Pick SevenRooms
You want to know your regulars and market to them
For example: a restaurant group or a hotel with several outlets
SevenRooms builds a profile for each guest from bookings, waitlist visits, orders, surveys and reviews, and adds itemised spend from POS systems such as Toast and Square. Profiles are shared across every venue in a group, the entry package runs four pre-built marketing automations and review replies, and Premium adds a loyalty program. TablesReady keeps a guest list per location with visit counts and history on every plan, plus VIP tags through custom properties on Business; it has no spend data, campaigns or loyalty, though a follow-up text can send guests to a mailing list or rewards program hosted elsewhere.
Pick TablesReady
Walk-ins fill most of your tables
For example: a brunch spot with a line at the door every weekend
On every TablesReady plan, Free included, the ready alert can go out as an automated phone call, an iPad can run as a self check-in kiosk, and a lobby TV can show everyone's place in line. We found none of these in SevenRooms' public material; its guests join by QR code or link and each one follows only their own place.
Pick SevenRooms
You want bookings from DoorDash and Deliveroo diners
Every SevenRooms package lists restaurants on DoorDash and Deliveroo Reservations by default, in the cities SevenRooms names, with no cover fees. Bookings also arrive from Instagram, Tripadvisor and TheFork. TablesReady has no diner network; Reserve with Google on Business puts your bookings and waitlist on Google Search and Maps, which SevenRooms offers too.
Pick TablesReady
Your hosts work on Android tablets
We found no Android staff app in SevenRooms' public material. Its host app runs on iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch, and managers use a web portal. TablesReady runs in any browser, including Chrome on Android tablets and phones, and our native app is for iPhone and iPad. Staff can pin it to the home screen to run full-screen, on the free plan too.

SevenRooms: Quoted after a demo, plus a one-time setup fee.
*Assumes 2 text messages per party, the median across TablesReady restaurants. TablesReady counts 160-character segments; SevenRooms' product terms include 15,000 texts a month per US venue on its entry package.
Texting pauses at your monthly limit. You get alerts at 80, 90 and 100%, and can add messages in one click.
Only our prices can be shown here. SevenRooms' pricing FAQ also names a transaction fee on pre-sales, and says there are no cover or reservation fees.
SevenRooms
SevenRooms doesn't publish a price. Its pricing page lists three packages, Starter, Growth and Premium, plus add-ons such as email marketing, Voice AI and its Reservations API, and each one says Get a quote. We found no price, starting price or range on its site, in its terms or in archived copies of its pricing pages. Its pricing FAQ does name a monthly subscription plus a one-time setup fee, a transaction fee on pre-sales taken through its booking widgets, and no cover or reservation fees. Texts come with an allowance per venue (15,000 a month in the US on Starter), and extra texts are billed at a local rate. Its February 2026 master agreement renews each contract automatically for the same term unless you give notice 90 days before it ends, and lets renewal prices rise by up to 5%.
Getting started: Book a demo to get a quote. There's no self-serve sign-up or trial, and the staff app needs a paid subscription to log in. Onboarding is 1:1 with a dedicated support member, includes a custom floor plan and an import of your guest database and reservations, and takes a few weeks.

Why restaurants look for a SevenRooms alternative
We read 93 reviews of SevenRooms on Capterra, G2, the App Store and Google Play, and about a third of them come from diners rather than restaurant staff. Operators praise it most for how fast staff learn it (15 reviews) and for its guest data, such as tags, visit history and live spend (14) (Capterra, G2 and App Store reviews). Three themes bear most on choosing an alternative, starting with how SevenRooms is sold.
A price you see only after a demo. Every package on SevenRooms' pricing page says Get a quote, and the quote comes with a one-time setup fee and a contract that renews automatically. Four reviews on Capterra and G2, the newest from April 2026, raise its cost, some calling it more expensive than they expected.
Powerful, with a lot to set up. Eight reviews, the newest from September 2026, call it complex or hard to customise (Capterra, G2 and App Store reviews). Some say it isn't plug and play, and others that shifts and layouts are tricky to set up.
Slow screens and forced log-outs. Ten reviews, the newest from July 2026, mention slow pages, glitches, late table status or crashes, two of them during busy service (Capterra, G2 and App Store reviews). Seven App Store reviews of the staff app, also as recent as July 2026, describe frequent log-outs, forced password resets or reinstalling the app after an update to sign in.
Where SevenRooms does more
SevenRooms goes further than TablesReady in four areas.
- Guest profiles with spend. Profiles build themselves from bookings, waitlist visits, orders, surveys and reviews. POS integrations add itemised spend (its integrations page lists about 32 systems, including Toast and Square for Restaurants, and the vendor claims 65+), and every venue in a group shares the same profiles. TablesReady keeps a guest list for each location with visit counts, visit history and messages on every plan, and custom properties on Business can hold a VIP flag or an allergy on the guest's profile. We have no spend data.
- Marketing, reviews and loyalty. The entry package runs four pre-built marketing automations, gathers reviews from Google, Yelp and Tripadvisor for replies from one dashboard, and sends branded post-visit surveys. Email and text campaigns are add-ons, and Perks, its in-service loyalty program, comes with Premium. TablesReady's texts and calls are transactional only. Our follow-up text after a visit (every plan) can link to a review site, a survey, or a loyalty or mailing-list sign-up you run elsewhere.
- Diner reach. DoorDash announced it was buying SevenRooms in May 2025. DoorDash and Deliveroo Reservations are part of every package, and bookings also arrive from Instagram, Tripadvisor, TheFork and Quandoo. Since July 2026, staff can look up DoorDash and Deliveroo consumers when they take a booking. TablesReady has no diner network. Reserve with Google (Business) is our outside channel, for bookings and waitlist joins from Google Search and Maps.
- Paid extras at booking. Bookable experiences, upgrades, ticketed events (from Growth) and card holds with no-show fees run through Stripe or five other processors, and a private-dining add-on handles spaces, minimum spends and inquiries. On TablesReady Business, a service can carry a Stripe deposit, which isn't refunded if the guest cancels inside your cancellation window.
Where TablesReady goes further
These comparisons rest on what SevenRooms publishes. Its help center needs a customer login, so settings documented only there couldn't be checked.
- Published prices and a self-serve start. TablesReady lists its Free, Starter and Business prices, has no contract to renew, and lets you sign up and seat your first walk-ins the same day. SevenRooms sets up each venue with a dedicated onboarding person, and says that takes a few weeks.
- Runs on the hosts' own devices. SevenRooms' host app is for iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch, with a web portal for managers, and we found no Android staff app in its public material. TablesReady runs in any browser, including Chrome on Android tablets and phones, and our native app is for iPhone and iPad.
- More ways to join and to be called. Besides the kiosk, lobby list and voice-call alerts, every TablesReady plan, Free included, texts each guest when they reach a place in line you pick, from 1st to 20th or later. SevenRooms texts guests as they near the top, with no documented setting for when. Its guests join by QR code, link or Google and see only their own place. Business adds joining by text message, and geofencing that limits sign-ups to guests within a distance you set. One G2 reviewer in April 2026 called its waitlist options very basic.
- A separate list for carryout. Our to-go list (Business) keeps carryout orders apart from the waitlist, with their own order-confirmation and order-ready texts, and Square orders can land on it. SevenRooms' staff app shows pickup and delivery orders, and we found no carryout list with order-ready texts.
- Integrations you switch on yourself. Business includes a REST API with a key from your settings, webhooks, and a Zapier connection (in beta). SevenRooms sells its Reservations API as a paid add-on approved per customer. We didn't find Zapier on its integrations list, and its webhooks couldn't be verified.

Switching from SevenRooms
Most restaurants switch in an afternoon: import upcoming bookings by CSV, paste in your text wording, and run both side by side during the trial.
What carries over
- Upcoming reservations. SevenRooms says reports and guest segments can be exported on demand, though it doesn't name the file format. Put your future bookings in a CSV (date, time, name, party size, phone, notes), and our reservation import takes it on any plan, Free included.
- Your guest-facing wording. SevenRooms keeps its text, email and widget wording under Guest-Facing Language in its settings. Paste the texts into our matching templates, using our merge fields for the guest's name and quoted wait.
What you set up again
- Your guest database. TablesReady can't import a customer list, so profiles fill in again from phone numbers as guests return, with visit counts but no spend. Keep a SevenRooms guest segment export if you plan to market to those guests from another tool.
- Your floor plan. SevenRooms' onboarding team builds a custom floor plan for you; on TablesReady Business you draw your own, then set each table for walk-ins, bookings or both.
- Your booking channels. Turn on Reserve with Google (Business) for bookings and waitlist joins, and point your website and Facebook Book Now button at our booking page (Business). DoorDash, Deliveroo and Instagram bookings end with SevenRooms. TablesReady has no diner network, and Google is its one outside booking channel.
Help with the move
On Starter and Business, our email support walks you through setup, and you load your own data; Enterprise adds set-up help and data migration. SevenRooms' contract renews automatically unless you give notice 90 days before the term ends, so check the dates on your order form. Then run our 14-day trial (no card needed, up to 150 texts) next to SevenRooms before that notice date.

SevenRooms alternative FAQ
What is the best SevenRooms alternative?
It depends on why you'd leave. For a restaurant that wants published prices, a strong walk-in waitlist and bookings, and can do without a marketing CRM, we'd pick TablesReady. The free plan runs your waitlist from day one, and Starter, from $39/mo, adds predicted waits and two-way texting with US and Canadian numbers. Online bookings, a floor plan, Reserve with Google and Stripe deposits come with Business, from $79/mo. If the guest CRM and marketing are what you'd miss, look at Eat App and Hostme, which both publish prices for a guest CRM with marketing campaigns. Restaurants on Toast POS that need table status synced should look at Toast Tables. TablesReady is our product, so read this pick with that in mind.
How much does SevenRooms cost?
SevenRooms doesn't publish a price. Its Starter, Growth and Premium packages and its add-ons each end in a Get a quote button, and pricing comes after a demo. Its pricing FAQ adds a one-time setup fee and a transaction fee on pre-sales through its booking widgets, and says there are no cover or reservation fees. Under its February 2026 master agreement, contracts renew automatically for the same term unless you give notice 90 days ahead, and renewal prices can rise by up to 5%. TablesReady's prices are public: a Free plan, Starter from $39/mo and Business from $79/mo, with a 14-day trial and no card.
Does SevenRooms have a waitlist and two-way texting?
Yes, on every package. Guests join from a QR code, a link or Google, follow their place, get a text as their turn nears and can check in by replying. Staff answer guest texts from one shared inbox. Its product terms include 15,000 texts a month per US venue on the entry package. Some waitlist settings are documented only in a help center that needs a login, so we couldn't check them. TablesReady adds joining by text and geofencing on Business, and voice-call alerts, a kiosk mode and a lobby-screen list on every plan; we didn't find those in SevenRooms' public material.
Is there a free alternative to SevenRooms?
TablesReady has a Free plan. SevenRooms lists no free plan and offers no trial. On our Free plan you get the waitlist with self check-in, basic reservations, unlimited users and 150 messages a month in the US and Canada (a tenth elsewhere), for up to 100 parties, and an account can keep 2 locations on it. Online bookings from your website and Google, the floor plan and Stripe deposits need Business, from $79/mo.
Can TablesReady replace the SevenRooms guest CRM?
Not if the CRM is why you use SevenRooms. SevenRooms builds guest profiles with itemised POS spend, tags guests automatically, shares profiles across venues and runs marketing automations and review replies, with a loyalty program on Premium. TablesReady keeps a guest list for each location with visit counts and history on every plan, and on Business custom properties can keep a VIP flag or an allergy on the guest's profile. We have no spend data, campaigns, review management or loyalty, though any of our texts can link to a survey, review page or sign-up form you run in another tool.
Does SevenRooms list restaurants on DoorDash?
Yes. Every SevenRooms package includes DoorDash and Deliveroo Reservations with no cover fees, in the cities it names. Its product terms list a venue's general availability there unless the venue opts out. DoorDash announced it was buying SevenRooms in May 2025, and the SevenRooms site now signs off as a DoorDash company. TablesReady has no diner network. Reserve with Google, on Business from $79/mo, lets guests book or join your waitlist from Google Search and Maps.
How do I switch from SevenRooms to TablesReady?
Check your SevenRooms order form first, because under its February 2026 master agreement a contract renews automatically unless you give notice 90 days before the term ends. Run our 14-day trial (no card) alongside it before that date. Upcoming reservations come over in a CSV with date, time, name, party size, phone and notes, which our import loads on any plan. Guest profiles start again, because TablesReady can't import a customer list, and you draw the floor plan yourself on Business. On Starter and Business our email team helps you set up, and data migration comes with Enterprise.
